Community Classes

Throughout the growing season, Farm Manager Pete Novajosky and a variety of guest educators come to share their unique knowledge with the community. The majority of the Farm’s classes are held under Anthony’s Arbor, our grapevine-shaded outdoor classroom.

While many classes are based around organic gardening, Fairgate Farm believes in addressing all aspects of health and will bring in local professionals to also teach yoga, nature therapy, healthy cooking demonstrations, and more to help you reach complete wellness.

We also have two recurring workshops we hold many times throughout the season:

Diggin’ In with Farmer Pete – Our bi-monthly series of “mini master classes” in which each session we dig into a new gardening topic such as container gardening, garden tools, or everything you want to know about growing tomatoes. These workshops take place Saturday mornings, run between 30-60 minutes, and are a combination of lecture style, live demonstration, and even some hands-on practice.

Farmer’s Kitchen – Our fun, farm food-focused cooking demonstration and health workshops. Often with guest chefs and health professionals, we’ll demonstrate recipes right in front of you using seasonal produce. We also dive into various health topics such as gut health, plant-based eating,  food as medicine, and more.

If you would like to suggest topics you want to learn about for either Diggin’ In or Farmer’s Kitchen, please send an email to fairgatefarm@gmail.com.

In order to keep these educational opportunities accessible to all we do not charge a fee, however for those able to do so, a donation to the Farm allows us to keep offering these educational experiences to everyone.  We also welcome donors and sponsors to help us provide these programs to the community.
