About Fairgate Farm
Fairgate Farm is a volunteer-driven urban farm nestled within the Vita Health & Wellness District on the West Side of Stamford, Connecticut. Our mission is to increase access to locally grown produce and to strengthen the community by celebrating healthy food through gardening, educational and harvest-related initiatives.
The Farm serves as an outdoor classroom for numerous schools, nonprofit organizations and community members to share skills, learn about nature and build community. Throughout the growing season, Fairgate Farm hosts a Farm Market and multiple workshops focused on environmental stewardship and nutritional awareness. Each year our volunteers harvest and distribute over 8,000 pounds of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers to benefit the community. One third of Farm produce is donated to hunger-relief partner agencies while our volunteers and Farm Market patrons enjoy the remaining bounty.
Attention all Farm Volunteers and Supporters!
Spring is here and work on the farm is ramping up!
As we kick off the new season, there will be plenty of seeding, soil prep, planting, watering, weeding, composting, mulching, and more!
We will typically be at the farm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings 9 am – 12 pm for the early spring and some afternoons (barring weather/schedule conflicts). Feel free to reach out to Farm Manager Pete Novajosky at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-940-2305 if you’d like to schedule volunteer time.
